Chapter 267: Why was she pinning? This could not be happening. This truly could not be happening.

This was the only thought that kept repeating inside Jules's head. She stared at the ceiling, trying to ignore the ache between her legs. Never had she slept with a man who hadn't courted her before, and never had she thrown herself in the arms of a man before. Much less passing out after the man went down and dirty with her, and she had certainly not slept in a stranger's bed for an entire day.

Jules turned her head and looked at the sun that was setting in the west and wondered just what had got into her. She must be tired; that must be it. There was no way she fainted after getting her insides rearranged.

The thought alone was enough to make her face burn with embarrassment. She pulled the blanket to her face and started rolling on the bed. She wished the floor would just split in half and swallow her whole; that way, she didn't have to face what she needed to face in a few minutes.

"You are up?" A familiar voice, a bit too familiar, echoed in the room, and Jules stiffened. She raised her head and looked at the man leaning against the doorframe. Now that the passion from the night had faded, Ajax looked quite bored. With his arms crossed in front, he was staring at her with a hint of a frown on his face.

Jules knew that the man was trying hard not to be rude, but it was quite hard with him glaring at her. Like she was doing him a quite personal wrong by staying in his bed when she should have gotten the hell out of here the second dawn broke. And she should have. Jules sighed. She had known that men didn't like her lingering after the deed was done.

According to many of her exes, it was nice having her wrapped around when they were hot and bothered, but beyond that-it was a hassle.

You are one-night material, Jules. Don't take offence, but it's true; that's what her exes had told her countless times, and even if Jules didn't want to quite believe it, she had to with them repeating those words again and again.

She sat up straight on the bed, ignoring the way Ajax's gaze heated up at the sight of her breasts. She knew they were hot and had seen them countless times - full and supple. However, he didn't get to look at her like she was icing on his favourite cake after giving that disgruntled look to her. Jules picked up the dress that had been torn and almost shredded by the man and frowned in disgust when she saw that the dress was beyond the point where it could still be worn.

"Here." Something cflying and landed just next to her, and when Jules turned her gaze to look at the blouse and skirt, along with the undergarments that the man had got her, she realised that Ajax had gone shopping. Well, at least the man was not as unmanly as she thought he was. At least he had the decency to buy something nice for her after ruining her dress.

Jules picked up the flowy white blouse that had ruffled sleeves and pursed her lips. It was none of the brands that she wore, but then again, she hadn't expected Ajax to bring any. A small enforcer like him might not even earn enough to purchase her favourite shoes.

Yet she still didn't forget her manners. "Then I guess I need to thank you?" "You don't have to. This is what I should do to ruin your dress," said Ajax as he pulled his phone out of his pocket. "How much was your dress? I will compensate." "No, need." Ajax paused and raised a brow. He said, "What's the matter? Do you think I cannot pay for it?" He did notice the look of contempt in the eyes of the dragon princess when she picked up the dress that he bought for her. This was the first the had purchased something for a woman, and he sure as hell didn't expect a look of sheer disgust instead of a thank you.

Jules sighed. Ignoring her nakedness, she slid down the bed and ran a hand through her hair before saying, "It's five hundred thousand dollars." "Five hundred-what?" Ajax stared at the woman dumbly. For a second, he was sure that he had misheard her. Because how could a sheer and weak fabric like that be five hundred thousand dollars? "It's five hundred thousand dollars," repeated Jules as she pulled the blouse over her body. She glanced at the man, who looked dumbfounded, and curled her lips in a mocking smile. "What's the matter, cannot payback?" Ajax stiffened. He wished to say, 'of course, I can,' but as he dropped his gaze, he once again realised the difference between the two of them.

"The next time, think twice before boasting; not everyone will be as " understanding as I said Jules as she po as I ve tugged the skirt up her long legs and buttoned it. She turned around and looked at her reflection in the mirror sitting in the corner of the room. Hmm, it did look cute, Jules thought as she twirled around in front of the mirror.

She then turned to look at the man whose face was ashen, and a sadistic pleasure flurried through her veins. There it was, she had finally avenged herself. With a flick of her hair behind her, she marched past the man without giving him another glance. Of course, as she walked past, she didn't forget to glare at the man as if she were ready to drill several nails in the back of his head.

Though she had pretended that his actions hadn't hurt her, the truth was that they did. It left ber hurting, and e her dragon kept whimpering in her head, something that she never did, even when other shifters turned her down or pushed her away. It left Jules confused as to why her dragon was reacting in such a way.
