Chapter 236 Chapter 236 Cyra I can't breathe. I swear Alpha Leo kept us late in class just so I wouldn't be able to say goodbye to Yorick. I raced to his room, throwing the door open, only to see everything gone.

"It's going to be okay, Cyra," Piper says, a moment before her arm goes around me.

"How? How is it going to be okay?" It feels like my entire world is about to collapse. He's gone. He's gone and I didn't even get to say goodbye. What if I never see him again? "Con, Aphrodite. It's Friday. We have the entire weekend to figure things out. By the twe get done with classes today, Shakespeare will be hand you can talk to him," Zach says.

"I need to call him now," I say, turning to go to my room. When I step in, I smell him. I look around and see his shirt and a note lying on my bed. I race to it, quickly picking up the note and reading it.

I grab the shirt while I read, taking a deep breath of his scent. The scent is so strong that I'm sure it's the one he was wearing this morning.

"What did he say?" Piper asks, coming to sit beside me.

I take another deep breath of his scent before putting his shirt on my pillow.

"He said he loves me, to stay strong, and that this isn't over." "You know Yorick means everything he says, so you're going to stay strong while we figure this out. Like Zach said, we have the entire weekend get with Tracker and Hacker and see if they have anything on Alpha Leo," Landon says.

I take another steadying breath, then stand. "Yes. The last thing he needs is for Alpha Leo to kickout and sendhome. That defeats the purpose of everything we've been working so hard to accomplish," I say, pushing my shoulders back and lifting my chin. If Yorick can be strong, so can I.

"He'd be proud of you," Chase says.

"Let's go get slunch. I'm guessing Yorick is expecting us to look after his Goddess of Love until he returns," Zach says, makingchuckle.

We go to the dining hall and get food. I'm struggling to eat, pushing my food around more than actually ingesting any of it when I feel hands on my shoulders and a mouth close to my ear.

"Meet us after class in Tracker's usual spot," Hacker whispers.

I turn and look at him. He looks more serious than I've ever seen him look. "We have information. Only bring those you trus I realize this must be about Yorick and since I'm his mate, he's leaving it toto tell my group of friends or keep it a secret.

"I'm guessing this is about another secret meeting I'm not invited to," Katelynn says, her tone indicating that she's not happy about being left out of everything.

To my surprise, Hacker stands, his gaze zeroing in on her. "Spending quite a bit of twith Talek these days, aren't you?" Everyone at our table turns and looks at her. Her eyes are wide, and a pink stain begins spreading across her cheeks.

1/4 Chapter 236 "I don't know what you're talking about," she says indignantly.

"Be careful of that one. She's trying to straddle the fence, keeping her feet on both sides. I just haven't figured out what her and glet Hacker says, not taking his eyes off Katelynn.

"You don't know what you're talking about," she growls.

He leans forward, stepping betweenand and Piper, lowering his head so he's staring straight at Katelynn. The hair on the back of my neck goes up at the danger that emanates off of him. It's so surprising and so different from the California looking man I'm used to dealing with that even Rina sits up, as if getting ready for a fight.

"I know quite a bit... Punkie." "Punkie?" Zach says, turning to look at Katelynn.

Instead of answering, she gets up and leans over the table to Hacker. "It is illegal to listen in on someone's private life," she snarls.

"Not when you're me," he says, the dangerous aura coming from him intensifies and Katelynn begins to sweat.

She grabs her tray and stomps off. When she does, I notice Talek's eyes following her and a moment later, he gets up too.

"Don't trust her," Hacker says.

"Dude, when did you becall badass?" Zach asks him.

Hacker watches Katelynn leave before turning and answering Zach, his sexy surfer's smile back in place.

"You're an Alpha. Isn't it always under the surface." "Yeah, but... Dude, that w one hell of an aura." "I had to qualify to get into this Academy just like all of you did. Don't let the pretty face fool you." "I won't ever again, that's for damn sure," Landon mutters.

He looks atagain and nods before turning to leave.

"Thanks, Hacker," I say.

"See you soon." "Do the rest of us get to know what he said to you?" Piper asks.

"After class, we're meeting in the usual spot," I say, suddenly feeling like I need to keep things quiet. There's no telling at this point who might be listening in and who might be giving intel to Megan, Alpha Leo, my father, Stellan, or who the hell knows who else, I somehow make it through the afternoon classes, focusing mostly so that I can tell Yorick if we cacross anything that c our strategy against Stellan and Christer. Then, we drop our things in our room and I listen to Yorick's message before we head to the library.

pus plan When we arrive, we see Tracker, Hacker, and a third man that must be Hijack. I'm sure I'd find him attractive if I hadn't found Yorick. But to me, no one compares to Yorick.

The other man's eyes lock onto me. "You trust everyone here?" he asks "Yes." 214 Chapter 236 "This is the usual group," Tracker says to him.

I sit facing the three. Piper sits besideand the others grab chairs and sit behind us.

"This is Hijack, in case you hadn't figured that out," Tracker says, then goes around introducing all of us to him. "There are two things we need to discuss with you today. First, did Hacker talk to you about paying us?" Tracker begins.

"Yes. I forgot all about it. I'm so sorry," I tell them.

"Can you pay us now?" Hijack asks, his tone serious.

"Why are you paying them, Cyra?" Zach asks.

"To keep the information confidential until we're ready to submit it to the Council. Becoming a paying om customer means that our allegiance lies with you, unless you're doing something illegal that needs to be stopped," Hijack says. He remindsof Hacker earlier today. He's very intense.

"How much?" Piper says as I grab my purse.

"I only have a couple hundred dollars with me, but I can get more," Tsay.

"The amount isn't the issue. The payment is the legal transaction that makes this a binding contract. Well, that and the confidentiality agreement," Hacker says, sliding a piece of paper over to me.

He takes the cash and I look over the agreement. I realize that it's written as if I created the document and the other three have signed it as the hired clients. The space for Account Manager is blank but has a sticky tab with an 'X' on it, indicating that a should sign there. 1 glace at the names. They've signed them legally, not as their nicknames. Jaelynn, Jude, and Lane. "Which one of you is Jude?" I ask. I don't know why, but it seems weird to finally know their real names.

"I am," Hacker says.

"We prefer you don't use our names in our business dealings. It's better Canter for all parties if we can remain as anonymous as possible," Hijack, aka Lane, says. "I understand," I say, signing the agreement.

"There's a second one," Hacker says, watchingcarefully.

I frown and look over the second document, then I look up at them.

"You found the alliance agreement?" I ask.

"We did. You're going to want to sign that, trust me," Hijack says.

I look at the other two as I get a sinking feeling in my gut. They nod, showing their agreement that I sign the document so I do.

"Let's start with Yorick's issue. That's the easier one to address," Hacker says.
