Chapter 212

Clara was kind of surprised, not entirely sure if she was imagining it, but the way Quinn was looking at Dylan

didn't exactly scream 'business partner."

When Quinn saw Clara walk in, her face fell. Clara worked here and got to see Dylan every day, while she had to

cup with all sorts of excuses like delivering projects and discussing contracts just to get a glimpse of him.

That really got under her skin.

Then she remembered that nasty little plan of hers. Ryan was still recovering in the hospital. Maybe she should

make sure he never wakes up. That way, Clara could never return to the Bradford family.

The idea sent a shiver of excitement through her.

Clara caught the brief, malicious glint in Quinn's eyes and instinctively went on guard.

Quinn just gave a sweet smile. "Clara, working at Ferguson Corporation seems amazing. I'm kinda jealous."

Clara moved closer to Dylan, picking up the coffee from the table without giving Quinn the tof day. "Your

perfume's way too strong. Mr. Dylan's not a fan of overpowering scents."

Right as she said it, Dylan gave a cooperative little cough, like he really was bothered by the smell.

Quinn had cwith the intent to charm Dylan, so naturally she felt the rejection like a dagger to the heart.

Clara took that moment to lean in a bit. "Mr. Dylan, letget you a fresh cup of coffee. This one's cold."

Quinn's eyes lit up when she noticed the marks on Clara's neck.

Today, Clara was wearing a high-neck top, but it was loose enough that a little movement revealed the red

marks underneath.

"Clara! Do you have a boyfriend? When are you bringing him over? I'm sure Dad would be thrilled. Mom's been

worried you'd never find someone."

Clara instinctively touched her collar, feeling a bit uneasy.

Quinn's eyes brimmed with distaste at her action. 'Is it not a boyfriend? Maybe just a fling? Clara, Clara, | thought

you were so prim and proper, but turns out you're out there hooking up. Ha, who cares if you're pretty? Dylan's

not into someone who's been around.’

With that thought, she felt more confident.

"Now that Simon's not always by your side, you're free to enjoy a love life."

Clara chuckled softly, "Yeah, unlike you and Simon, sneaking around. Congrats on finally being legit."

Quinn felt a wave of rage, her face turning red, "Clara!"

How dare she embarrass her like that, especially in front of Dylan!

Clara was already out the door with the coffee cup. Usually, she'd pick the finest beans and grind them herself

for Dylan, but with Quinn lurking around, clearly up to no good, she just grabbed the staff's go-to instant coffee.

In less than a minute, she was back.

Dylan was surprised at how quickly she returned, and as he took a sip, his brow furrowed deeply.

Clara started wiping down the marble desk with a napkin, clearly not planning to leave.

Quinn's back was ramrod straight with anger. "Clara, Mr. Dylan and | have important things to discuss. Could you

step out for a bit?"

Dylan had only given her ten minutes to fix the contract, and twas almost up.

Clara gave her a smile, continuing to wipe the desk with dedication. "Sorry, | promised Mr. Dylan I'd stay by his

side, and there's nothing | can't hear. I'm his right-hand woman now."
