Chapter 1157: He and Hadley had already talked. He planned to stay at the hospital until Joy's surgery was over and she was well enough to go home. Right now, nothing mattered more than Joy's recovery, and Hadley understood that. Fortunately, Brady had arranged a suite, giving everyone enough room to rest and move around.
In the dining area, Hadley had just finished her meal when she spotted Eric approaching.
"Ceat something," she softly said.

Hadley answered the call and walked toward the door. "You're here? Yes, we're at V19... I'll meet you at the entrance. Alright." Eric glanced up just as she opened the door to the hallway.
"Denver," she called out, waving. "Over here." Earlier, Denver had mentioned wanting to stop by, but Hadley had gently turned him down. This was a personal family matter. And with both Brady and Eric already involved, she didn't feel the need for additional support. Denver understood. He knew she only saw him as a friend now, and realizing she had others by her side, he didn't press. Instead, he waited until after work to cby.
"Hadley," Denver greeted, slightly out of breath from running. "How did things go today? Was everything okay?" "It went well. Everything's been arranged," Hadley assured him. She glanced at the clock and asked, “Have you eaten?" "No." "Well-" "Hadley," Denver cut in gently with a smile as he pulled a small, handmade cloth pouch from his pocket.
She tilted her head. "What's this?" Find great reads at g al no v☐☐sLooking a little sheepish, he answered, "I went to Phinas Church today." "Phinas Church?" Hadley blinked, surprised.
The Phinas Church, located in the western suburbs of Srixby, was known for its rich history and remained a meaningful place for many worshippers.
"I didn't know you were a believer." Hadley was surprised.
"I believe when it matters." Denver offered her the pouch, then cleared his throat. "I went to get a charm for Joy. Something for peace and protection." Hadley froze for a moment, realizing he had done such a thing for her daughter.
"Is it silly?" Denver's cheeks flushed slightly. "I know it's probably just superstition, but I thought... maybe it would bring speace of mind." Hadley didn't respond right away, and Denver started to fidget.
"If you're not into this kind of thing, I can take it back..."
"No!" Hadley snapped out of her thoughts and gripped the pouchm tightly. Then, she pretended to scold him. You can't take back a gift once it's given." "So... you'll accept it?" Denver hesitantly asked.
"Of course." Hadley opened the pouch, revealing a small charm attached to a string. Her fingersm brushed gently over it, and her expression softened. "My grandmother used to visit Phinas Church a lot. If she were still here, she would've gone and picked one up for Joy too."
She looked up and smiled at him.
