Chapter 1871

Kiran spent a blissful day at the amusement park with his mom, and for those precious hours, it felt like all his

worries just vanished. Even the nagging sense of something being off seemed to disappear.

As they walked hunder the setting sun, their shadows stretched long across the ground-his mom's tall and

his short. He turned to her and said, "Mom, | wish today could be real."

If only it were. He'd have the chance to look her in the eyes and say, "I love you." But the harsh line between

reality and illusion was unyielding. He couldn't fool himself into believing this was real. Not because the illusion

was too sweet, but because reality was just too harsh.

He couldn't forget. Couldn't forget how his mom had left this world, or how The Silent Shadows had taken her

from him. He lived on for his sister, Sandy, his father, Caelum, and the whole Pollard family.

Kiran refused to let a pretty lie make him forget the bitter truth. It was with this realization that the fantasy world

collapsed, and he was the first to wake up from the dream.

"So, this is the rebirth Joseph was so eager for," Kiran thought, a smirk tugging at his lips as he eyed the

gemstones in his hand. He found it almost laughable, how far people would go for something so fake, sacrificing

so many lives.

To Kiran, a lie was always just a lie. He pocketed the gems and turned away from the Aldridge family's

underground lair. Now, he needed to figure out how to use these ridiculous gems to bring down The Silent

Shadows.

His mind drifted back as he sat at his desk, watching the pendulum of iron balls swing and clash-a rhythmic

dance. He gave one ball a gentle nudge.

Angelo was just a fragment of his own mind, a personality that split off after the trauma of losing his mom. The

incident had left deep psychological scars. He had inside knowledge of the elite, which filled him with contempt,

yet he had to mingle with them and fit into their world.

Deep down, maybe he longed to be a fearless journalist, exposing the hypocrisy of high society. But the

relentless stress and long-held resentment wore him down. Even with medication, his mental state crumbled,

leading to a split

personality.

At first, it was just headaches. Then, another persona began to grow inside him, as if another soul was battling

for control. After seeing numerous therapists, Kiran started to understand this other self and learned how to

manage it.

Everything was in his grasp, except for Sandy, his sister, getting caught up in the chaos. Sandy was someone he

had to protect. Losing Angelo as her brother was something he always regretted.

Even after Angelo's persona faded,

Kiran sometimes adopted Angelo's easygoing manner to chat with Sandy. Maybe Angelo was the brother Sandy

loved most. But t didn't matter. Whether Angelo or Kiran, they were both him. As long as Sandy needed him to

be Angelo, he was willing to play that role indefinitely.
